Amateur League Intermediate Round Up 25-04-2014

More Midweek mayhem and another twist in the battle for the Premier Division title.  Crumlin Star drew 1-1 away to Ardglass leaving Drumaness Mills 2 points clear at the top with 3 to play.  The cup runs are talking its toll on Star but this is far from over.

Dunmurry Rec has the distraction of the Clarence Cup Semi-Final this weekend but it may be something to look forward to as they seem doomed to relegation.

In Division 1A and Derriaghy CC winning 2-1 against Downpatrick secured their promotion to the Premier Division.  The title is still up for grabs with Derriaghy in the driving seat, but any slip ups and Immaculata are ready to pounce.

Lisburn pulled back 3 points against leaders St Patricks YM, but with a point behind and only two games left each it may be beyond them. The point for Downshire YM against title challengers Lisburn Rangers and the defeat for Saintfield United last weekend was enough to fend off any feint hopes that Saintfield had of staying up.

Division 1C looks like it’s going all the way this year with Ballynahinch Olympic, Portaferry Rovers and Bangor Amateurs.  Colin Valley still have a say in this and with Olympic and Amateurs to face off this weekend could be back in with a shout.
