North West Saturday Morning League Weekend Roundup 31-10-2015
There where only three league games at the weekend due the start of the Blue Riband Cup and all of the top 3 in action. Currrent Premier Division leaders Westbank United kept up their undefeated record with a 4-0 win over Brandywell Celtic, Barry Downey, William McVeigh (2) and another goal from the leagues top scorers Sean McCarron, now on 13.
Second placed Creggan Swifts visited HML, John Devine on the score sheet for HML but this game will be one to forget as the Swifts racked up 10 with goals from Emmett Coyle (2), Darren McCready (2), Mark Crossan (2), Mo McEleney, Eoghan McNeill and Joe McCready (2). Clifton Villa just kept up the pressure on the two above them with a narrow victory over Hatmore Harps, two goals from Darren Harkin and one from Colin Murray enough to take all 3 points in this 3-2 win. Sean McConnell and Paul Simon Tracey with the goals for Harps.
Six 1st Round tie of the Blue Riband Cup where played at the weekend and goals from Marty Gallagher, Philip Sheerin, Daryl Doherty gave Clooney a 3-1 win over Culmore, Aidan Harkin with their goal. Sion Swifts progressed into the next round with a 3-0 win over Rosemount, Swifts scorers were Ross Porter, and two from Aidan Friel. Kevin King and Emmett Williams scored for Tamnaherin Celtic in their 2-0 win over Dungiven.
It was goals galore in the next three ties with an average of just over 8 goals per game. Two hatricks in the game between Newtown Heath and Du Point, Liam Healy for Newton and Coalan McFeely for Du Pont. But was Newton that progress with Andy Dunne and Sean Rogan scoring to ensure victory for Newton 5-3.
Bentley had five different scorers in their game with Foyle, Matt Ferry, Lee Ryan, Paul Gormley, John Ferry and two from Gary Colette gave them the win over Foyle 6-3. On the score sheet for Foyle were Sean McKeever, Kevin McLaughlin and Aaron McLaughlin.
Another hatrick this time for City Colts Sean Rush, two from Ricky Harkin and one for Kevin McGowan gave3 Colts the win over Tristar Boys, Ethan Cohen and Stephen Bullock with the Tristar goals.
